L. Gordon Letts, Ph.D.
The current President of the International Association of Inflammation Societies, Dr. Letts is the Senior Vice-President and Chief Scientific Officer for Nitromed, an emerging biopharmaceutical company that is based in Boston, Mass. Dr. Letts has held several previous appointments in the pharmaceutical industry including Director of Pharmacology at Boehringer Ingleheim Pharmaceuticals, and appointments at Merck-Frosst and the Royal College of Surgeons, London, UK. Dr. Letts currently serves on the board of Directors of IPS Pharma, Inc, a privately-held biopharmaceutical company. Dr. Letts holds a Ph.D. in pharmacology from the University of Sydney.
Mark J.S. Miller, Ph.D., MBA.
Professor Miller is a tenured Professor of Cardiovascular Sciences and Pediatrics at Albany Medical College, Albany, NY. He has held academic appointments at three USA medical schools as well as senior research and management experience in the pharmaceutical industry (Ciba-Geigy). Professor Miller consults for numerous biotechnology, and pharmaceutical companies as well as commercial evaluator for the World Bank and USAID. Professor Miller is on the editorial board of many scientific journals and is an international expert in the field of natural product based therapeutics. Professor Miller holds a Ph.D. in physiology and pharmacology from the University of Adelaide and a MBA in technology management from La Trobe University.
Tariq M. Haqqi, Ph.D.
Professor Haqqi is the Director of Research at the Division of Rheumatology, Dept. Medicine, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Professor Haqqi is an expert in experimental and clinical arthritis and joint dysfunction. He sits on numerous governmental advisory panels and is on the editorial board for Clinical and Experimental Arthritis. Professor Haqqi is an international expert in the field of natural products and arthritis. Professor Haqqi holds a Ph.D. from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarth, India.
